JMT's Florida Construction Management Team is seeking a CEI Senior Project Engineer to be responsible for managing Construction Inspection business in the assigned region.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Responsible for marketing and business development for transportation construction projects within the central region of Florida
- Manages contracts, including invoicing and financial management, as well as project management and overall project performance
- Responsible for project QA/QC in the assigned region
- Manage internal JMT staff and subconsultants
- Participate in client presentations
- Maintains and builds client relationships
- Prepare technical and price proposals
- Hires, trains, develops, and conducts performance reviews for staff
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
- Assists design disciplines with constructability questions/issues
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
Required Experience
- Six (6) years of engineering experience
- Two (2) of those years involved in relevant transportation projects
- Exception: Five (5) years for Complex Category 2 (CC2) and PTS bridge structures
- A Master's Degree in Engineering may be substituted for one (1) year engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registered in the State of Florida
- Ability to obtain endorsement in the State of Florida within six months of Project NTP if registered in another state
Qualifications / Certifications
- FDOT Advanced MOT
- CTQP Quality Control Manager (Attend and pass the examination)
- To be achieved by Project NTP, if CEI Project Administrator/ Project Engineer holds qualification at time of proposal
Abilities / Responsibilities
- Ability to: Communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)
- Responsible for: Directing a highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program;
- Responsible for: Planning and organizing the work of subordinate and staff members;
- Responsible for: Developing and/or reviewing policies, methods, practices, and procedures;
- Responsible for: Reviewing programs for conformance with Department standards.
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasions where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
Travel required.
