Job Summary:
A CDL driver for All About Trees primarily operates a heavy-duty truck to transport tree limbs, debris, and specialized tree service equipment between job sites, ensuring safe loading, securing cargo, and adhering to all traffic regulations while often assisting with basic tree service tasks like loading and unloading materials at the worksite, requiring a valid CDL license and familiarity with tree service operations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Driving and Vehicle Maintenance:
- Safely operate a variety of heavy-duty trucks (dump trucks, flatbeds, etc.) with a CDL license.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and compliance.
- Perform basic maintenance checks and report any issues to the mechanic.
- Follow proper loading and securing procedures for tree debris and equipment.
- Site Navigation and Logistics:
- Navigate to and from job sites using GPS and maps.
- Coordinate with tree crews to ensure timely delivery and pickup of materials.
- Assess site conditions to determine safe loading and unloading areas.
- Loading and Unloading Assistance:
- Operate loading equipment (cranes, winches) to safely load and unload tree limbs, stumps, and other debris.
- Assist crew members with ground-level tasks like branch cutting and debris cleanup when needed.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all DOT regulations regarding driving hours, weight limits, and safety procedures.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the job site.
- Report any safety concerns or accidents immediately.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements
- Experience operating heavy-duty trucks in various weather conditions
- Basic understanding of tree service operations and safety protocols
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor when needed
- Strong spatial awareness and good driving record
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with crew members
Education and Experience:
Commercial Driver’s License – REQUIRED
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years related experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Must be able to work on a team.
