DESCRIPTION:
Local Drivers – Must be able to attend in person interview and complete Road Test – Resume must be submitted for candidates
The positions are temp to hire – client would like to offer permanent positions for the drivers
Shifts will depend on routes
We are only looking for stellar, quality candidates at this time. Please be very specific on resumes you send. Looking for folks with experience, and not a lot of job hopping around
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
One year of route delivery experience or a background in driving a straight truck
Operate vehicles in a variety of traffic and weather conditions
Meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company
Demonstrate strong customer relations and problem resolution skills
Plan and organize work activities independently of direct supervision
Develop knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures
Maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations
Responsibilities:
You will manage daily routes with frequent stops, loading packages onto hand trucks and unloading products at designated stops
Operating within a cross-dock model, you will pick up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery and return the empty truck to the assigned lot
Occasionally, you may assist with loading trucks, palletizing products, and performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager
Provide technical support, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects
Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times
Unload products from trailers by hand or using a hand cart and place them in designated customer storage areas
This may include transporting products down ramps, stairs, or docks in all weather conditions
Frequently lift, push, or move products weighing 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds; frequently reach up to 72” to stack and unstack pallets and hand carts; constantly bend and twist while loading and unloading products and retrieving items from the trailer
Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures
Contact management for authorization when discrepancies are on invoices
Communicate all errors/returns
Call in when a customer does not receive their entire order (shorts) and handle any customer complaints professionally
Handle company equipment properly, follow written driver safety rules, and perform a pre-trip inspection
Perform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and client policies and procedures
