R&D Maintenance Services, Inc. provides operations and maintenance services on U.S Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects throughout the southeast - since 1980. We are the Operations and Maintenance Contractor for the Black Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway Project providing machinery and facility maintenance and repair on nearly 200 miles of waterway and 9 locks/dams/spillways on the system. Position is based in Demopolis, AL. R&D is an EEO Employer.
NATURE OF WORK:
Performs the full range of CCTV/Low voltage equipment and wiring installation, testing, commissioning, and repair in interior and exterior locations across various project locations.
ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS:
- Install cameras, network switches, antennas, low voltage wiring and fiber in exterior and interior locations.
- Anchoring/mounting of equipment to various surfaces (Electrical, mounting pads, interior/exterior walls, doors, etc)
- Making basic low voltage connections working with RS232/485, Twisted Pair, Cat5/6e, fiber, etc.
- Pulling of electronic cable for the basic wiring and installation of hardware.
- Cutting, bending, and installing EMT, rigid, flex, and weathertight conduit and conduit boxes.
- Assemble and install cable and equipment in racks and cabinets
- Install systems and equipment including flat-panel displays, cameras, enclosures, racks, control systems, and AV signal routing and processing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair CCTV and access systems and components.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques used in the CCTV/Low Voltage trade
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
- Knowledge of and ability to read and understand drawings and schematics
- Ability to plan and schedule multiple tasks and effectively prioritize and plan work activities; uses time efficiently;
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to demonstrate overall safe work behavior; including the utilization of proper safety equipment and adhering to safety guidelines.
- Ability to properly and safely use/operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic test equipment
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or formal training in electrical or electronic work.
- Must have three (3) years of experience in CCTV/Low Voltage work.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must pass a background, motor vehicle license, and pre-employment drug/alcohol screen.
PHYSICAL REQUREMENTS:
- Frequent walking and standing; frequent
- Frequently lifts/carries up to 20 pounds with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; occasional pulling up to 20 pounds;
- Frequently climbing ladders and working at heights; working from aerial work platforms.
- Frequent use of power and hand tools;
- Frequent balancing, kneeling, reaching (full range) bending, handling, feeling, climbing, twisting; occasional crawling and reaching; working in cramped and confined spaces;
- Vision, speech and hearing sufficient to perform essential tasks.
