Job Title: Director of Sales
Position Summary:
The Director of Sales is responsible for leading and managing the sales and marketing efforts at our independent upscale hotel. This role will develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve overall revenue goals while ensuring guest satisfaction and maintaining a positive brand reputation. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proven track record in sales, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop strategic sales plans to increase revenue and occupancy levels
Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities
Build relationships with potential clients, including corporate accounts, travel agents, and online booking platforms
Collaborate with the Revenue Management team to set pricing strategies
Train, motivate, and manage the sales team to meet or exceed targets
Create and maintain accurate sales forecasts and reports
Monitor competitor activity and adjust strategies accordingly
Attend industry events and networking opportunities to promote the hotel's brand
Work closely with other departments to ensure excellent service delivery to guests
Participate in budget planning for the hotels sales department
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field
5+ years of experience in a similar role within an upscale hotel environment
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
Strong leadership abilities
Knowledge of reservation systems (Opera preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position. The Director of Sales will be required to work flexible hours based on business needs, including weekends and evenings. Travel may also be required for industry events and networking opportunities.
Work Environment:
The Director of Sales will work primarily in an office setting, but may also need to visit clients and attend events outside the hotel property. This role requires frequent use of a computer and telephone.
