GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is responsible for selling, coordinating, and successfully executing weddings and special events of up to 300 guests. This position will oversee staff assigned to the events and focus on helping to achieve guest and customer satisfaction and team goals.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Minimum of a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Must have at least one (1) year in a hospitality environment. Experience in sales is a plus.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Able to learn POS and other Food and Beverage Software. Tripleseat knowledge a plus.
- Must understand all aspects of a Banquet Event Order (BEO).
- Must be positive, and enthusiastic with good attention to detail.
- Must always remain professional in appearance, voice, and follow-through.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including mornings, nights, afternoons, weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Sell, manage, and execute events.
- Conduct tours of the banquet facilities and expose clients to its services; qualify potential leads and ensure appropriate and timely follow-up.
- Open office and all banquet outlets and secure office and all banquet outlets upon closing.
- Keep systematic files of records, reports, leads, and correspondence.
- Create, maintain, and manage daily changes for all event signage.
- Communicate BEO changes to Executive Chef.
- Schedule operations staff as needed.
- Assist in the creation and management of contracts, deposits, and payments to all new and existing accounts.
- Assist in providing financial and statistical recording and reporting.
- Act as a manager on duty when alone.
- Assist in function room set up, AV equipment, and other services as requested by the client.
- Assist sales team with communication with clients, service staff, and co-workers at all stages of event planning and execution to ensure that the guest expectations are exceeded while maintaining composure and a positive demeanor at all times.
- Supervise active banquet staff and vendors to ensure proper delivery of product and services.
- Work closely with event host to guarantee all commitments are satisfied to provide the highest level of customer service and experience.
- Help to ensure Arrowhead responds to customer complaints and/or inquires in less than 24 hours following request.
- Answer phones and schedule appointments and transfer calls to the appropriate staff member.
- Establish and maintain good public relations.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
- Attend social networking events.
- Participate in showcases.
- Receive reservations for banquet and restaurant events.
- Perform duties and special projects as assigned.
- Attend meetings and in-service training as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC
Must have and maintain: a current driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; CPR/AED certified or obtained within one (1) year of employment; Bassett certification; and ServSafe certification within (30) days.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to: frequently use a keyboard and computer, remain in a stationary position for long periods of time; and occasionally move about the office to access office equipment and files weighing up to 10 lbs. and occasionally expo supplies weighting up to 25 lbs.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Must be able to: frequently work in an office environment and will be exposed to cleaning chemicals, odors, smells associated with a kitchen, restaurant, and banquet facility, and noise during events such as weddings, etc. This position may be exposed to all types of weather conditions when assisting with events held outside.
HOURS
Hours may vary due to business demands - up to 28 hours per week

Looking to hire within the $20.24 - $25.30 range, DOQ.
