About the role
The Category Manager for the Vietnamese Market is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to optimize Vietnamese Category performance, enhance profitability, and ensure customer satisfaction, driving growth in the Vietnamese Market. This role includes people management, category oversight, market analysis, supplier negotiations, and inventory management while collaborating with various departments to achieve business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Work with Vietnamese Market lead to develop and implement strategies for the Vietnamese category that maximize sales, market share, and profitability.
- Lead and manage the Vietnamese merchandising team by setting effective strategies and goals for the Vietnamese category to achieve key business outcomes.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and assortment to identify gaps and opportunities for growth that cater to Vietnamese consumers.
- Work with Vietnamese market lead to develop impactful pricing and promotion strategies for Vietnamese categories that align with customer needs and company goals.
- Ensure consistent product supply by collaborating with supply chain teams including demand forecast, replenishment, and middle mile/ logistics teams to monitor inventory and prevent out-of-stock situations, meet targeted vendor fulfillment rates and product availability goals.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships for optimal pricing and vendor support.
- Collaborate with the marketing and regional teams to implement promotional activities across all regions, boosting sales performance.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives to ensure that category strategies are effectively integrated into the broader Vietnamese market and company objectives, enhancing overall business performance.
- Track and analyze sales performance, margins, product availability, and other key metrics; produce detailed reports on category performance and present insights with actional analysis, and recommendations to senior management weekly, monthly, quarterly, and as needed.
Key Qualifications
- 3+ years of merchandising experience in the retail industry or related field.
- Experience in market research, data analysis, inventory management, and forecasting.
- Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and communication skills.
- Fluency in both Vietnamese and English is required.
- Passion for food and deep understanding of Vietnamese culture, food, and nuances within Vietnamese communities in the US.

Compensation Range
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $95,000-110,000
- This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits
- Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location
