About the Job
The Category Manager is an integral part of the procurement team. The initial goal will be to gain a solid knowledge of the team’s supply base, company, and procurement processes, and understanding of the roles and personnel of associated work groups inside International.
As Procurement Consultant you will be a member of a Category Management Team (CMT), which provides the opportunity to work cross functionally within International interfacing with the product development, program management, quality, manufacturing, risk management, finance, logistics, aftermarket parts, product pricing, supply chain and more.
As Procurement Consultant for Aftermarket (Transmission, Steering, Suspension and Exhaust), you will be responsible for managing an estimated spend of ~$200M.
Demonstrating solid performance in this role will position you well for advancement into jobs of higher responsibility within International Procurement.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Influence: Guide and shape the development and execution of strategies with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster seamless collaboration across various departments.
- Cost Reduction Management: Oversee and drive cost-saving initiatives.
- Strategic Sourcing Leadership: Lead sourcing activities for new programs and business transfers.
- Supplier Negotiations and Administration: Conduct and manage supplier contract negotiations and administration.
- Supplier Performance Management: Monitor and enhance supplier performance.
- Best Cost Country Sourcing: Collaborate with the Best Cost Country Sourcing Team to develop strategies for consolidating the supply base for tail spend suppliers.
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience
- Master’s degree
- At least 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience
OR
- At least 7 years of purchasing/procurement experience
- Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. - Analytical Proficiency: Strong analytical skills with expertise in Microsoft Excel.
- Effective Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Interpersonal Abilities: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
- Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Cross-Functional Experience: Experience working in large, multi-functional organizations.
- Industry Knowledge: Background in purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, or quality.
- Manufacturing Insight: Familiarity with manufacturing processes and key cost drivers.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and understand technical prints and specifications is a plus.
