The Logistic Category Manager will develop, implement, monitor and realize the Sourcing strategies for the sub-categories and spend areas across modes including FTL, LTL, Parcel, Rail, and Over the road transportation rates. Support procurement and fleet strategies & requirements to ensure alignment and best prices are recognized. Substantial involvement in supporting supply chain, fleet and transportation team and expand their involvement and value add.

The Logistic Category Manager will develop, implement, monitor and realize the Sourcing strategies for the sub-categories and spend areas across modes including FTL, LTL, Parcel, Rail, and Over the road transportation rates. Support procurement and fleet strategies & requirements to ensure alignment and best prices are recognized. Substantial involvement in supporting supply chain, fleet and transportation team and expand their involvement and value add.
The category manager duties included but not limited:
- Developing and implementing quarterly and annual RFQs to standardize and reduce transportation rates for all third-party transportation.
- Create strategies in alignment with cross-functional teams demand for third party transportation and service with year-over-year productivity improvements in TCO and KPIs.
- Support development of new technology for transportation management, sourcing, negotiations, and supplier selection, and contracting.
- Champion and secure optimal supplier mix to create always continues competition with service availability. And achieve transportation cost reductions and improved service across modes.
- Manage supplier relationships and implement consistent key performance indicators for the sub-category, ensuring that any supplier performance risks and issues are resolved on a timely basis to end user satisfaction.
- lead market analysis and research to identify innovative partners and strategies, conducting tenders and auctions to drive cost savings and process improvements.
- Purchasing vehicles to expand and/or enhance the fleet.
- Manage Fuel spend and strategically build a plan to reduce cost.
- oversees the end-to-end lifecycle of each company-owned commercial vehicle and develop a plan to determines whether to rent, sell, reassign, or retire a vehicle to reduce maintenance cost.
- Researching the best vehicle types and building a fleet based on a company's operations and budget, then supervising their procurement.
- Sign strategic agreement for vehicle maintenance to drive cost reduction and standardization.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a similar role.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Education: MBA is preferred or Relevant qualifications in procurement and supply, CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) certifications level 3.
- Analytical Abilities: Proficiency in analyzing data and market trends to make informed decisions.
- Domestic and/or International Travel up to 30% as needed.
