_This intern position requires you to be in a hybrid working model (at least 3 days in the office, and 2 days remote) based at the Staples, Inc. Corporate Headquarters in Framingham, MA._
Target Start Date: June 2, 2025 - August 15, 2025 (11-week program)
Position Overview:
Our Category Development team determines our assortment of Private Brands products and works cross-functionally to bring those products to life and increase Private Brands penetration.
The Category Development Intern will lead the execution of a strategic category initiative and support bringing our Private Brand products to life.
+ Analyze internal data and conduct competitor research to identify trends and make product recommendations
+ Define key product features and secure cross-functional alignment
+ Build a business case for new product(s) recommendations and present to Director-level stakeholders
+ Partner with Brand Strategy to develop consumer-focused packaging and messaging
+ Analyze performance data and provide actionable recommendations

+ Analytical problem solver who can take complex data and distill it into a meaningful and coherent story and use it to drive business decisions
+ Structured thinker who combines data and intuition to shape product recommendations
+ Strong communication with skill in presenting complex ideas clearly
+ Proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented team player
+ A strong executor, comfortable with ambiguity and tight deadlines
+ Thrives in a collaborative corporate setting with a positive, professional attitude
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
+ Actively pursuing a master's degree in Business Administration (MBA)
+ Must be a rising senior (graduating May 2026), enrolled as a full-time student carrying a minimum of 12 college credits
+ 3+ years of category management, merchandising, or consulting experience
What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications:
+ Enjoy working in teams and being highly communicative
+ Able to multi-task and be flexible to new initiatives
