Cashiers/Key Holders are the faces of the Ultimart stores. They are an important part of our Guests’ day, and they are experts in creating the Guest experience. Cashiers provide prompt and outstanding Guest service, quality products, and maintain a clean and comfortable store environment. Every Cashier is a valuable part of our team!
Summary of Key Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to, the following):
- Responsible for unlocking the store location and completing all opening duties in the location.
- Processes cash, debit, credit and check transactions using a cash register or other point-of-sale system.
- Maintains a clean and organized store environment and ensures that inventory is stocked and faced in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the entire team.
- Delivers outstanding Guest service by maintaining a positive and friendly demeanor and connecting with each and every Guest.
- Consistently uses suggestive selling techniques in order to boost store sales and increase Guest satisfaction.
- Follows all state and federal regulations for gas, alcohol, and tobacco sales.
- Acts with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture and values of our Company.
- Follows Company operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
- Promotes great teamwork and readily assists with team needs throughout the shift.
- Maintains a clean and polished appearance, wearing the designated uniform.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team or individually
- Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Availability Requirements:
- Must have flexible availability for scheduling. Keyholders must be able to report to work as early as 4:00AM.
