Ledgent Accounting & Finance is currently seeking a Cash Application Specialist to join a growing finance team in Tampa, FL. As a Cash Application Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely application of customer payments, as well as assisting in the reconciliation and management of accounts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong attention to detail and prior experience in cash application or accounts receivable.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately apply incoming customer payments to the appropriate invoices in the company's accounting system.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies, including unapplied cash, short payments, and billing issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Accounts Receivable and Customer Service, to resolve payment-related issues.
- Reconcile customer accounts, ensuring proper application of payments and accurate reporting.
- Assist in month-end closing processes and contribute to financial reporting activities.
- Prepare cash application reports and assist in audits as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or a similar financial role.
- Proficiency with accounting software
- Strong Excel skills; familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
