Program Overview: The goal of HBVIP is to support trauma victims and their families who have suffered injuries due to gunshots, stabbings or blunt trauma. Through a collaboration between hospital staff and community providers, we provide bedside support, resources and linkages for victims of crime to improve their outcomes and reduce future victimization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Use your lived experience to engage and support victims of violence
- Provide intensive case management services to Inspira patients and their families who are victims of a gunshot, stabbing or blunt force trauma
- Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing assessment, care management and discharge planning
- Use a culturally responsive, trauma informed approach and share lived experience as appropriate to effectively engage patients
- Develop a plan for after discharge that meets the patient's immediate safety needs
- Establish goals which promote the patient's physical and mental recovery while also improving their social and economic conditions
- Link patients and their family to appropriate services and resources
- Work collaboratively with Inspira, Life Worth Living and othercommunityserviceproviders
- Complete documentation consistent with program, agencyand OAG requirements
- Minimum High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred.
- Experience and/or expertise in violence prevention and intervention, mental health, addictions, or trauma-informed support services among high-risk populations.
- Lived experience with mental health, substance use and/or trauma from violence preferred.
- Ability to work with diverse, high-risk populations
- Strong engaging, communication and collaboration skills
- Professionalism, ethics and a commitment to excellence in care
- Must demonstrate initiative, creativity, reliability and the ability to work well independently
- Must be able to exerciseindependent thinking and good judgment
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, use of an insured vehicle and an acceptable driving record
