About the Job
Responsible for providing assistance with case management, crisis intervention, advocacy, referral for services, and victim assistance to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, teen dating violence, stalking, or human sex trafficking. Assists with daily operations of the program as needed, including participating in crisis line backup and on-call rotation.
Job Duties:Provides supportive services for individuals including case management, crisis intervention, advocacy, referral for services, and victim assistance to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, teen dating violence, stalking, or human sex trafficking. Develops case management plans including continuous safety planning with survivors, identifying existing barriers, setting goals, and developing action plans. Supports and advocates for clients, while being a positive role model, through problem-solving and conflict resolution to ensure that a consistent, safe, and secure community living environment is available to everyone. Acts as a liaison between clients and other service providers. Maintains knowledge of current resources to coordinate care, make referrals, and advocate to appropriate providers and resources. Occasionally transports clients to court hearings, to obtain services, and to other appointments and activities as needed.
Develops and facilitates public awareness activities that are designed to inform survivors of domestic violence of their rights, the services available to them, and to provide them with assistance. Meets with clients on a regularly scheduled basis to discuss, assess, and assist in the removal of barriers and meeting of case management goals. Maintains accurate and ongoing documentation in individual client files after every client encounter, including in-person and phone calls. Completes all necessary paperwork and reports, and collects data and grant information as required. Participates in weekly staff meetings. Completes all required program trainings. Facilitates/co-facilitates support groups as assigned. Participates in building community relationships on behalf of the program. Assists with daily operations of the program as needed. Participates in crisis line backup and on-call rotation. Provides court advocacy as needed. Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Minimal supervisory responsibility (i.e. lead position).
Qualifications:EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university; no substitutions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
At least four (4) years of experience in a related field.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software, Internet software, and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Must meet and maintain periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care. Must have no felony convictions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. There are no special vision requirements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
