Job Description:The Queens County District Attorneys Conviction Integrity Unit is looking for an entry-level Case Analyst/Trial Preparation Assistant (TPA).The TPA will provide administrative support to the attorneys in the Conviction Integrity Unit (CIU) while assisting in the initial processing and evaluation of cases submitted to the unit. This work may include reviewing and evaluating initial requests, obtaining and reviewing case files and law enforcement records, and scanning and redacting documents. The TPA may also be called upon to draft correspondence and legal memoranda. The TPA will also be responsible for maintaining the CIUs records in an orderly fashion and generating reports from these records on a regular basis.Preferred Education And Qualification RequirementsBachelors Degree with educational focus on criminal justice or related education and/or experience. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience as a paralegal, legal assistant or other work in the criminal justice field. All candidates must have at least a high school diploma or its educational equivalent.TPAs must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to interact with attorneys, staff, witnesses and convicted persons and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.
