About the Job
The primary focus of the Commercial Carpenter is to perform maintenance, repairs, applications, and installations associated with company commercial construction projects. The Carpenter performs construction, alteration or modification, repair of and replacement of such items and structure as framework, doors, windows, screens, paneling, interior and exterior trim, as well as the installation of wood and steel joists. This position is expected to work within a 90-mile radius of the city of Pittsburgh, and will be an employee of the Pittsburgh, PA office location.

What you'll do:
- Ability to operate all types of woodworking equipment and hand tools.
- Hang drywall and metal studs as required and perform light finishing of GWB assemblies.
- Have knowledge of all GWB assemblies for code compliant installations.
- Construct interior building partitions under the direction of the carpenter foreman and/or superintendent.
- Perform window, door/hardware installations and minor roof repairs.
- Perform demolition work on project site.
- Safely erect scaffolding systems for daily construction activities.
- Perform finish carpentry work, i.e., molding, trim work, casework etc.
- Install ACT grid, tile, and associated trims.
- Maintain production quantities as outlined by the project schedule.
- Respond in an expeditious and timely manner to all work requests regarding carpentry expertise.
- Assist in loading and unloading building material.
- Provide input on jobsite logistics, organization, layout, equipment, and manpower utilization.
- Clean project site and maintain order with all tools and equipment.
- Operate equipment such as man-lifts, scissor lifts safely and as needed to perform daily activities.
- Have knowledge of foundations of structures for concrete pours.
- Construct and form grade beams, slab on grade, columns and panels, edge forms for concrete pours.
- Mold, shape or form wood or plastic forms to pour concrete.
- Perform clean-up procedures.
- Adhere to comprehensive project safety and security programs as defined in the company safety program in accordance with all applicable safety codes and regulations.
- Meet with the Safety Director and complete mandatory safety training prior to start of employment.
- Additional tasks as necessary and/or assigned.
