Restoration Tech

A restoration technician's job is to repair and restore properties damaged by water, fire, mold, or other events: 

• Assess damage: Visit the site to assess the extent of the damage and the scope of the work required 
• Remove debris: Remove debris and items from the area 
• Repair damaged areas: Repair damaged areas, such as carpets, floors, and walls 
• Clean and deodorize: Decontaminate and deodorize indoor space 
• Restore structure: Repair and restore the structure, including removing and replacing damaged drywall, plumbing, and related materials 
• Maintain tools and equipment: Maintain and store tools and equipment 
• Help customers: Help customers with complaints or questions about timelines, invoices, and expectations 

Restoration technicians should have excellent communication skills, be physically fit, and be able to work well as a team. They should also have a good understanding of safety standards. 

Education and training requirements for restoration technicians include: 

• Previous experience in construction, maintenance, or a similar field 
• Training, which is often provided on-the-job 
• Certifications or licensure in safety programs
