Job Summary: The Non-Medical Personal Care Aide (PCA) is responsible for providing supportive and personal services to clients while maintaining their dignity and privacy. This role involves assisting clients with personal care and hygiene, performing light household tasks, and ensuring their safety and well-being. This position is per diem, offering flexibility in scheduling. Please note that we do not sponsor visas.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
Educational Background: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Communication Skills: The ability to read, write, and follow directions accurately is essential.
Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 18 years old and have demonstrated competency in personal care tasks.
Interpersonal Skills: The ability to work positively and favorably with clients, their families, and fellow staff members is crucial. A compassionate, responsible, and cheerful attitude is highly valued.
Regulatory Compliance: Must be listed on the nurse aide registry with no findings related to client abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of client property.
Health Requirements: Candidates must undergo a physical exam and obtain clearance from a TB (Tuberculosis) test.
Training: Completion of two Caregiverlist University courses (provided by Allied) is required.
Licensing: A valid driver's license is necessary for running errands and transporting clients as needed.
Reliable Transportation: Candidates must have access to reliable transportation to commute to client locations and perform errands as required.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
The individual in this position must be able to perform the following essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation:
Personal Assistance Services: Follow the Supervisor's instructions to provide personal assistance services, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and respectfully.
Hygiene Assistance: Aid clients with personal hygiene needs, including bathing, oral care, grooming, and dressing, while respecting their privacy and dignity.
Meal Preparation and Housekeeping: Assist with preparing meals, serving food, running errands, performing light housekeeping duties, doing laundry, and washing dishes to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment for the client.
Safety and Observation: Observe and report any safety hazards in the client's home, as well as any significant changes or observations regarding the client's condition, to ensure their well-being.
Training Compliance: Complete all mandatory annual training sessions to stay updated on best practices and regulatory requirements.
Client Complaints: Report any client complaints to the Supervisor promptly, ensuring that issues are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
Confidentiality and Compliance: Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements, as well as the agency's policies and procedures.
Instruction Compliance: Possess the ability to follow both written and oral instructions accurately, ensuring that care plans are implemented correctly.
Condition Reporting: Report any abnormal findings in the client's condition to the Supervisor, as observed and in accordance with the care plan.
Time Management and Documentation: Clock in and out on time via the designated app, and enter a detailed summary of shift care notes to ensure accurate and thorough documentation of care provided.
