Caregiver for Assisted Living Facility - Westgate Villa Assisted Living

Caregiver Position Summary:

The primary purpose of your job position is to maintain a level of customer service to all guests, in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as directed by your supervisor. The caregiver  provides close observation serving primarily to the patient’s cleanliness and safety. 

Education/Certification:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to fulfill each essential duty with a strong degree of professionalism. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

• Minimum of H.S. degree or equivalent. 
• Long-Term care experience preferred 
• Ability to work well with diverse populations who may have mental, physical, intellectual, and psychiatric disabilities. 

Caregiver Responsibilities:

• Assisting with personal care, which may include bathroom functions, bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating.
• Following a prescribed healthcare plan, which may include assisting with exercise and administering medication.
• Ensuring the client’s home is organized according to their needs and that safety measures are in place. You may also be expected to assist with some light housework.
• Providing emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks.
• Providing mobility assistance may be required, for example helping the client in and out of bed, a chair, or a wheelchair.
• Transporting or escorting the client to medical and other appointments.
• Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behavior, and needs.
