Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) is seeking applicants for a Career Connect Coordinator position at the Clarkston campus.
This position is 100% grant funded under the Washington Career Connection grant, which develops and better connects students to appropriate programs, supports, services, and information from first contact through graduation. The grant begins July 1st, 2024 and runs through December 31st, 2025. This position will not be funded by college funds at the close of the grant cycle.

General Description:
The Career Connect Washington (CCW) - Coordinator position will be responsible for developing a program in collaboration with industry, labor, education, and the community leaders to create work-based and academic programs for high school and college students. The goal of the program is for students to explore and learn while earning both college-level credit and earning a wage. This position also includes navigation and recruitment services; it provides information and outreach to students and community partners regarding the energy systems program.
The CCW Coordinator seeks to create opportunities to better prepare a workforce with relevant skills, creating an educational system that can keep pace with a rapidly changing set of workforce needs. This position will facilitate the necessary connections between industry, government, and education partners.

Essential Functions:
- Develop strategy for engaging students into the career connect program and removing program barriers.
- Establish and maintain effective working partnerships with multiple stakeholders including community partner agencies, local manufacturing industries and prospective employers; work collaboratively and maintain regular communication with industry leaders in order to maintain and strengthen network and pipeline.
- Participate in community partner activities to market the program.
- Create work-based learning opportunities for students to gain real-world experience and exposure.
- Place students in career exploration and engagement activities (including career events, job shadowing, mentoring, micro-internships, internships, and other career aligned experiences).
- Recruit and retain students in the program.
- Track and report student participation in line with grant funding requirements.
- Create and implement the annual calendar of events and informal activities.
- Provide tutoring and other support to program participants to ensure student success.
