Psychiatrist Qualifications

• Valid license to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine in Michigan

• DEA license to prescribe controlled substances

• Michigan Controlled Substance License

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution

• Board certified (preferred) or Board Eligible

• Completed accredited psychiatric residency program

• Minimum one year psychiatric experience in a mental health clinic, correctional facility, or inpatient hospital

• Strong diagnostic skills and knowledge of evidence-based treatments

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork

• Independent decision-making skills in fast-paced settings

• Adherence to ethical and legal standards
