Cardiovascular Technologist/RCIS

Location: Westminster, MD

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled and dedicated Cardiovascular Technologist/RCIS to join our partner hospital in Westminster, MD. This role involves performing a variety of technical procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab, and working collaboratively with physicians to diagnose and treat cardiovascular conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization procedures, including angioplasty, stent placement, and electrophysiology studies.
• Prepare and operate specialized equipment, such as catheters, guidewires, and imaging systems.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and hemodynamic parameters during procedures.
• Provide patient education and support before, during, and after procedures.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of procedures and patient care.
• Adhere to strict sterile techniques and infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's Degree preferred.
• Experience: Six (6) months of cardiovascular and interventional training and/or experience.
• Certifications/Licensure:
  • ARRT (R) (CV) - Registered Technologist in Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography
  • BLS - AHA Healthcare Provider
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Skills and Knowledge:

• Full knowledge of catheters, guide wires, needles, dilators, and other angiographic instrumentation used in the cardiovascular lab.
• Ability to produce optimal quality radiographs promptly.
• Understanding of the principles of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care to patients of all age groups.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
