Position Overview: As a Cardiovascular Technologist with expertise in Cardiac Sonography, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cardiac sonography procedures, including transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), to evaluate cardiac function, anatomy, and blood flow.
- Set up and maintain cardiovascular diagnostic equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide real-time imaging support during cardiac procedures and surgeries.
- Accurately record and maintain patient records, including images and test results, in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Educate patients about procedures, answer their questions, and ensure their comfort and safety during examinations.
- Assist in the interpretation of test results, prepare preliminary findings, and report critical findings to physicians promptly.
- Follow infection control procedures and maintain a sterile environment during invasive procedures, adhering to strict aseptic techniques.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, ensuring the highest standards of imaging quality and patient care.
- Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in cardiac sonography through continuing education and professional development.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a related field.
- Certification in Cardiac Sonography (RDCS) through a recognized certifying body (e.g., ARDMS or CCI).
- Current state licensure as a Cardiovascular Technologist or the ability to obtain licensure.
- CPR certification and knowledge of basic life support (BLS) techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse healthcare team.
- Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions during procedures.
- Knowledge of relevant medical terminology and electronic health record systems.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in a cardiology department or cardiac catheterization lab.
- Advanced certification in cardiac sonography (e.g., RDCS in Adult Echocardiography, Pediatric Echocardiography, or Fetal Echocardiography).
