Job Description
Must be able to perform various Cardiovascular duties from validating medical necessity, entering orders, performing various Cardiovascular procedures including EKG, EEG, Holter Monitoring and Event Monitor Hook-up, communicating critical test results to ordering physician, completing worksheet and strips for interpreting physician, completing dictated or electronic reports for ordering and interpreting physicians, cleaning equipment and treatment room for next patient, keep certification current by completing continuing education requirements, submitting dues tri-annually and submitting CME certificates to manager for education file. The Cardiovascular technician exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures, provides patient care essential to cardiovascular procedures, recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures, establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, and the Medical Staff. Prepares patients, position patients for the procedure, set-up the devices, and connect patients to any necessary diagnosing and monitoring equipment. operate diagnosing systems and carry out any non-medical procedure that may be necessary for the diagnosis.
Education: High School Degree or Equivalent
Work Experience: 0-6months
License/Certification:
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
