Job DescriptionThis Position is Contingent with Contract Award – Role is based on the Coast of Africa.

The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Trainer would represent International SOS on this US government facility. The role of a CPR trainer is to educate and certify individuals in the techniques and protocols of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, ensuring participants understand how to respond effectively in emergency situations. This position involves delivering engaging, hands-on training sessions that emphasize life-saving skills and compliance with current safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive CPR training courses to individuals and groups, covering techniques for adults, children, and infants.
- Assess participants' skills and knowledge, providing certifications upon successful completion of the training.
- Keep informed about the latest CPR and emergency response guidelines from organizations such as the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Create and update training materials, presentations, and handouts to ensure relevance and clarity in instruction.
- Provide hands-on demonstrations of CPR techniques, use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), and other emergency procedures.
- Collect feedback from participants to assess and improve training methods and materials continuously.
- Encourage awareness and understanding of the importance of CPR and emergency preparedness in the community.
- Ensure all training equipment, such as manikins and AED simulators, is maintained in good condition.

QualificationsBasic Requirements/Certifications:
- Current Certification: Must hold a current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or higher (e.g., Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS, Pediatric Advanced Life Support - PALS).
- Instructor Course Completion: Successfully complete an Instructor Course specific to the discipline being taught (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS).
- Teaching Experience: Demonstrated teaching experience or knowledge in a healthcare or emergency services environment is preferred.
- Basic Skills Proficiency: Proficient in the skills and knowledge required for effective CPR and emergency response techniques, including the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
- Application and Affiliations: Be affiliated with a Training Center, which supports the teaching and certification process.
- Ongoing Education: Participate in periodic instructor updates and maintain certification through continuing education as required.
- Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
Education Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
- Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting to 25 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- Valid US Passport with at least 6 months before expiration date. Must maintain a current passport during your stay.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. Applicants with current clearances are preferred.
- Must be able to relocate for the duration of the project.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
