Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer

Location: St. Louis, MO

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer to join our partner hospital in St. Louis, MO. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, IAC-accredited inpatient/outpatient echocardiography lab supporting advanced protocols and pathologies for a large academic medical campus.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of echocardiograms and other non-invasive cardiac procedures on adult and geriatric patients.
• Utilize your expertise in cardiac sonography to obtain high-quality images and measurements.
• Work independently and collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and optimal patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, adhering to confidentiality and privacy regulations.
• Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years of experience as an Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer, preferably including inpatient experience.
• Certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) - Adult preferred; will consider RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) with strong experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Skills:
  • Experience with Client equipment, bubble studies, and contrast agents.
  • Proficiency in M-Mode, vascular-arterial, 3D echo, RIT/RVOT, LVAD, ECMO turn down, and congenital echocardiography.
  • Experience in outpatient, inpatient, ER, Level I Trauma, and teaching hospital settings.
  • Knowledge of PACS and portable ultrasound equipment.
  • Ability to perform biopsies.
• Other:
  • EPIC charting experience.
  • Left-handed scanning ability.

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) with a rotating day off each week.
• Fair rotation of Saturday coverage with an additional day off during the week.
• Holiday rotation coverage for pre/post holiday shifts.
• Unplanned absences are subject to being made up on a different day of the same week, including Saturday, at the manager's discretion.
