About the Job
The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality echocardiograms under the guidance of clinical providers and in alignment with departmental standards. This role requires maintaining compliance with established protocols while ensuring optimal patient care and technical excellence.
Salary: $71,531 - $107,286
Signing Bonus: Yes
Bonus Description: $5,000 - $7,500 -3 years of experience
Relocation Package: Full
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform echocardiograms on patients as ordered, prioritizing trauma and critically ill cases.
- Select appropriate ultrasound techniques to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Position and instruct patients to ensure proper image acquisition and patient comfort.
- Maintain compliance with standards set by the American Society of Echocardiography, as well as State and Federal agencies.
- Manage the daily technical operations of the echocardiography lab, including maintaining equipment and supplies.
- Back up studies and create copies on disc for further review as required.
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional education programs to maintain and enhance technical proficiency.
- Adhere to Porter Medical Centers Compliance Program and all hospital and departmental policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education/Certification: Certification in Cardiac Sonography (RDCS or RCS) or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or cardiology clinic preferred.
- Skills: Strong technical abilities, attention to detail, and excellent patient interaction skills.

- Proficiency in performing echocardiograms and utilizing ultrasound techniques to ensure optimal image quality.
