About The Outer Banks Hospital
The Outer Banks Hospital is a full-service critical access hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The 21-bed facility is designed to meet the needs of the coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 350,000 in the summer season. Its campus includes four ORs, a medical/surgical unit, a labor & delivery suite with a dedicated caesarian section OR, a full rehabilitation therapy center, cancer treatment and radiation therapy center, and a 24-hour emergency department.

Position Summary
A Cardiac Sonographer/Echocardiographer is a credentialed medical professional with academic and clinical experience to use imaging technology to help physicians diagnose heart problems in patients. They operate ultrasound equipment that provides moving 2-D or 3-D images of the heart and its chambers. The scope of practice includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education, clinical experience and completed ARDMS- RDCS and/or RVT or CCI- RCS registration, which is the standard of practice in Ultrasound.
Minimum Requirements
- High school or equivalent (or higher)
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ARDMS (RDCS or RVT) or CCI (RSC) registration or must be registry eligible with registration obtained within 12 months of date of hire
- 0 years of experience as Cardiac and/or Vascular Sonographer
