Position Overview:
The Cardiac MRI Technologist II plays an integral role within a dynamic team, independently performing advanced MRI procedures, particularly in cardiovascular imaging. This professional must exhibit a high level of clinical expertise and judgment while maintaining exceptional patient care standards. Direct collaboration with physicians during complex diagnostic and specialized procedures is expected. The technologist will also participate in cutting-edge research initiatives aimed at improving diagnostic outcomes.
Core Responsibilities:
- Independently execute advanced diagnostic MRI procedures, ensuring adherence to imaging protocols and patient safety guidelines.
- Provide direct assistance to physicians during specialized diagnostic and cardiac MRI procedures.
- Deliver superior patient care by adhering to the standards established by regulatory agencies and internal guidelines.
- Engage in research projects that advance imaging technologies and improve diagnostic accuracy.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of cardiovascular imaging techniques and continually update skills to meet evolving medical standards.
- Monitor and assess MRI equipment functionality, promptly addressing any issues to ensure consistent operation.
- Ensure compliance with clinical and safety protocols to deliver the best patient outcomes while reducing risks.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Three years of MRI experience with a minimum of one year specializing in cardiovascular imaging.
- Extensive experience using advanced MRI technology to perform diagnostic procedures in a clinical setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in collaborating with medical staff and patients in high-pressure environments.
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and imaging protocols to facilitate precise diagnostic results.
Licenses and Certifications (At least one of the following is required):
- RDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) OR
- RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS) OR
- CCI - Cardiovascular Credentialing International, Certified (CCI) OR
- CNMT - Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB)
- If certified through NMTCB or ARRT, registration as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-GC) is required
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- If certified through NMTCB or ARRT, registration as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-GC) is required
- ARRT-MR - Radiologic Technologist, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT) OR
- ARMRIT - Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist OR
- CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - State Licensure
- BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) – (Can be obtained during the negotiation process)
