Job Summary
American Management Group (AMG) is an Enterprise Shared Services organization supporting several diverse companies with the normal business support operations every business needs to function. In addition to Finance & Accounting, Human Resources, IT Services, Contracts Management and Operations/PMO Office our most unique function is that of Business Development. The Capture Manager leads our SDVOSB and Small Business capture efforts (especially those greater than $10M). The Capture Manager supports the Business Development team on Bids and Proposals (B&P) efforts focusing on Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) (e.g., IT Services, Network Modernization & Sustainment, Transformation Initiatives, Cloud Migration & Management, System Administration, End User Support, Cybersecurity and Cyber Defense), and Digital Solutions (e.g., Application Development, ERP, DevSecOps, Data and Analytics).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities may include the following:
- Plan, organize, and manage all capture activities on agreed upon pursuits.
- Lead major capture efforts (greater than $10M) to successful completion.
- Develop overall capture strategy, internal and external teaming, business plans and marketing.
- Lead and facilitate win strategy development including technical, management, teaming, past performance, staffing, pricing, etc.
- Lead development of Customer profiles, including Customer needs, issues, goals, and biases.
- Lead and coordinate competitive assessments, determining strengths and weaknesses of our Operating Companies and potential competitors.
- Collaborate with Operations Company Leaders, Solution Architects and SMEs to develop solutions that offer Customers recognized value, are price competitive, executable and will be evaluated favorably.
- Prepare and lead Color Team/Milestone Reviews, and other reviews as required once opportunity is assigned for pursuit.
- Develop B&P spend plans and track all associated expenses with capture efforts.
- Manage capture activities report metrics/manage risk and effectively lead growth within our Business Development section.
Skills Necessary
The key skills necessary for this position are:
- Leadership skills to develop, organize and execute significant capture activities, including building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing Customer call plans to shape acquisitions.
- Proven track record of successful capture management across multiple DoD or FedCiv organizations at a variety of acquisition sizes and types.
- Experience capturing pursuits requiring development of a solution and/or an approach.
- Strong proposal development and writing skills, successfully conveying information in executive summaries.
- Experience and understanding of pricing and pricing strategies across multiple contract types.
- Experience managing and incorporating BOE into the capture process.
- Ability to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and establish collaborative relationships with BD Team members and company management, and peers within the company.
- Excellent oral and written communications and experience briefing company executives and Customers.

Education and/or Experience
Our desired education and experience include the following:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree.
- 5+ years of experience and a demonstrable winning record leading captures in EIT and Digital Solution markets at scale according to the targeted bids.
- Experience bidding and winning GSA MAS schedule and IDIQ opportunities is desirable.
- DoD Security Clearance a plus
