Posting Summary
Responsible for the training program for doctoral and master’s level students in collaboration with CAPS Assistant Directors. Responsible for overall strategic planning for the CAPS graduate training program and oversight of all clinical and administrative activities related to the training program. Ensures all training programs are consistent with correlating accreditations where applicable. Maintains current knowledge with best practices in training models in college mental health by participating in national conferences and organizations devoted to college mental health services training. Supervises clinical staff and supervisors of trainees. Facilitates frequent group supervision of trainee supervisors. Expand training program to not less than 10 trainees within three years of job acceptance (given structural factors and supervisor availability). Provides individual and group counseling and crisis intervention services to students.
Responsible for promoting a safe and supportive climate in the Center for Health and Wellbeing for students and staff of all races, ethnicity, religions, national origins, gender sexual orientations, veteran status, disabilities and ages. Responsible for supporting the mission and philosophy of the Center for Health and Wellbeing, Division of Student Affairs and the University of Vermont.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Doctoral degree in counseling psychology, clinical psychology, social work or other related discipline, state licensed or eligible. Holds current VT State Licensure. Five years’ experience as a staff member in a university counseling setting (or equivalent) with experience in graduate training of counselors and/or psychotherapists (preferably as a member of a university department) and supervision of staff. Experience in mental health care administration with knowledge in the following areas: management and organizational skills, supervisory skills to deal with personnel and clinical problems, team building/training, crisis intervention, professional development training, expertise in creative problem solving in an organization setting. Demonstrates commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.
Desirable Qualifications
Anticipated Pay Range $90,000-$95,000 (11mo term)
