Summary: Seeking a Capital Projects Engineer with extensive experience in heavy industrial plant project engineering, field construction, and start-up supervision.
Requirements:
-
BS in Engineering or related field; Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred

5-10 years of experience as a Project Engineer in a heavy industrial, continuous process plant
-
Proficiency in project planning including developing budget & schedules and writing proposals
-
Demonstrated experience with the FEL process for project planning
-
Field construction and start-up supervisory experience required
-
Strong Excel skills, including writing macros
-
Physical capability for extensive field work, comfortable with confined spaces and elevated platforms
-
Willingness to work overtime and travel as needed
Preferred Skills:
- Local candidates with interest in C-D assignment
Responsibilities:
-
Support projects from conception through execution using the FEL process
-
Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Technology, Engineering, Environmental, Commercial, Procurement, and Construction
-
Identify solutions and formulate business cases consistent with financials
-
Optimize project costs while adhering to development timelines and objectives during the FEL process
Duties:
-
Review and compile documentation for projects including engineering drawings, specifications, data analysis for decision-making processes, etc.

Prepare cohesive document packages for internal (FEL Processes) and external purposes (RFQ/RFP)
-
Assist in preparing high-level schedules showing strategic milestones from engineering start to commissioning close
-
Monitor compliance with all applicable codes, practices, QA/QC requirements alongside state/federal guidelines including OSHA/EPA

Gather cost information relevant to each project's scope

Execute projects including contractor selection through RFP/quote processes and oversee contractor performance

Close out projects ensuring all documentation is cataloged within the system
Technical Skills:
-
Knowledge of project controls, management, scheduling, risk analysis, constructability reviews

Technical background in an industrial setting; familiarity with heavy machinery/thermal processing advantageous

Business case analysis competence

Proficiency in MS Office suite; PMP/project management experience beneficial
Pay Details: $45.00 to $65.00 per hour
