About the Job
The Director of Corporate Relations raises financial and other support for Concordia through the philanthropy of senior level corporate executives, corporate foundations, and direct corporate gifts and grants. This is a full-time position that reports to and works closely with the Vice President of Advancement and is located on the Mequon, Wisconsin campus.
Responsibilities
• Personally manage a portfolio of 75-125 donors and donor prospects who will financially support the University. These donors
and donor prospects will primarily be: Senior level corporate executives, Corporate foundations, and Corporations that make
direct gifts and grants to non-profits
• Interact broadly with members of the community and corporate executives to assess their interest to joyfully support Concordia
through volunteerism and potential board involvement
• Create opportunities to position the President, the Vice President of Advancement, other Vice Presidents, and Deans, with
corporate executives through intentional networking,
• Develop corporate relationships that connect individual businesses with the University through sponsored programs, projects,
and scholarships.
• Work collaboratively with one of the University deans and faculty to advance the mission, raise philanthropic support, and help
the dean meet his/her fundraising responsibilities.
• Work closely with the various members of the Advancement team to achieve all collective fundraising goals primarily in
Wisconsin but potentially throughout the upper Midwest.
• Conduct and facilitate group sessions; prepare and deliver coherent oral presentations
• Work closely and collaboratively with the members of the Advancement staff to accomplish the goals of the University at large
• Participate in professional organizations and attend pertinent local, regional, and national continuing education meetings; read
supportive professional publications in an effort to grow in professional expertise
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Understanding of the LCMS, its structure, and historical relationship to CUW and CUAA

• Be available for evening and weekend work as needed. Some travel required
Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree is required and experience that relates directly to fundraising, business, and marketing. Past experience in successful sales will be an asset. Must be computer literate with an understanding of development or fundraising techniques. Understanding of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS), its structure, and historical relationship to the University. This individual must have an appreciation for the mission and purpose of Concordia as a comprehensive university of the LCMS.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position. Starting wage is dependent upon on individual qualifications and experience. Concordia health, disability and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time employees and their eligible dependents.
