Overview
Job Summary
Supervises YMCA Camp Orkila's environmental education, conference and retreat, housekeeping and food service departments. Provides leadership to Camp Orkila summer programs. Administers the Association policies and procedures within Camp Orkila and the YMCA of Greater Seattle. Provides support functions for programs and departments and is responsible for excellent program quality and customer experience.
Hiring Range: $79,000 - 85,000
Responsibilities
1. Supervises the operations of Camp Orkila's conference and retreat, environmental education, housekeeping, food service programs and other duties as assigned. Ensures that all operations meet association quality standards and are in accordance with established policies. 2. Oversees the recruitment, hiring, development and supervision of staff to ensure successful enrollment goals and processes are met within departments. Provides leadership and appraises performance. 3. Oversees customer service, program quality and other impact measurements and deliverables within departments. 4. Oversees relationships with school groups. Responsible for bookings, budget and enrollment in departments under supervision. 5. Supports summer program operations and assists the Camp Executive Director with program leadership. 6. Assists the Camp Executive Director in the financial development of Camp Orkila, including the annual campaign, and the funding of specific capital projects. 7. Assists the Camp Executive Director in the cultivation of alumni including the identification of past campers, alumni record keeping, and the development of alumni correspondence. 8. Assists with the development and implementation of a year-round marketing plan for our family, community and weekend programs. 9. Supervises promotional event planning to assure a quality and professional outcome. 10. In coordination with the Camp Executive Director, develops and manages the branch budget process for departments under supervision. 11. Provides program data and reports in support of the branch and Association planning process. 12. In concert with the Camp Executive Director, gives leadership to branch long-range strategic planning and monitors performance and objectives. 13. Supports the Camp Executive Director as a resource and by participating in various committees and groups. 14. Obtains a Class B CDL (Commercial Driver's License) within 12 months of start date. 15. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in business, human services or equivalent.
2. Five years or more of progressively responsible experience in staff supervision, office management, budget development and monitoring.
3. Experience in marketing, public relations and volunteer development. Must have an understanding of voluntary organizations.
4. Ability to assess financial and business needs and plan accordingly.
5. Knowledge of computer systems, including personal computers and applications.
6. Ability to act independently and to exercise discretion.
