Camp Nurse
Full Job Description
The Malvern Day Camp Nurse ensures the health and safety of all on-site summer campers, team members and visitors; obtains and maintains health records and documents as required by Malvern Day Camp and ACA. Administers basic first aid and medications and responds to emergencies as necessary. Children in Summer Camp range from 5-14 years of age.
The hours of this full-time, seasonal position are from 8:15am-4:15pm, Monday through Friday. Malvern Day Camp runs from mid June to late August 2023. There will be mandatory training dates before camp begins.

Responsibilities:
Monitor, evaluate, and follow appropriate MDC health and safety procedures and routines
Administer appropriate care in compliance with PA Department of Health and ACA standards
Assist parents and team members with medical questions
Collect medication and information throughout the camp season
Communicate and health concerns to families and Directors.
Manage camp nurse’s office, ensure the office is clean, organized, and well maintained
Maintain supply inventory
Work effectively with other team members
Serve as a role model to campers and team members
Requirements:
Minimum of 3rd year nursing student
Current First aid and CPR certification (The Malvern School provides and pays renewal if needed)
Proven success working with children and young adults with medical conditions including but not limited to food allergies, diabetes, and seizure disorders (preferred)
Required upon hire
Completed Background Checks (FBI, Child Abuse, Criminal, NSOR)
Willingness to complete additional training (Mandated reporting, First Aid/CPR, Water Safety, etc.)
