Join us. **Job Description** AECOM is seeking aCalifornia Traffic Engineering State Manager to be based in **Orange, Oakland, and Los Angeles, California.** At AECOM, we’re delivering a better world. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Coordinates and provides technical expertise for mid- large-size projects. + Leads technical client relationships and plays a major role in selling. + Leads discipline department efforts to grow technical expertise. + Leads technical business development work. + Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise. + Approves and signs off on work. + Leader in one or more areas of technology. + Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule a to meet requirements on large, complex projects. + Manage the traffic engineering staff on a daily basis throughout California + Lead traffic engineering projects and traffic design tasks throughout California + Lead marketing and proposal efforts for traffic engineering projects. + Be responsible for plan approvals for Caltrans and other major agencies. + Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to discuss projects with co-workers, clients, regulatory agency staff, AECOM staff, and the public in meetings and at public events as well as write concise and readable technical reports and documents + Supporting a wide range of traffic engineering projects for roadway, freeway, transit systems, managed lanes, bicycle and pedestrian facilities + Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, work independently, and demonstrate effective time management skills + Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered, apply innovative design solution, implementing current technology to meet project design needs + Provides guidance, mentor and coach to engineers, or technicians, to learn and improve their technical skills + Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule. + Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs and other relevant software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and preferable Project) Skilled in MicroStation and AutoCAD software **Qualifications** **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:** + BS plus ten (10) years of relevant experience and demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education + California PE or TE license **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** + 12+ years of traffic engineering management experience + 6+ years of job-related experience in California + Highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, work independently, demonstrate effective time management skills, and consistently deliver high quality deliverables **Additional Information** + Sponsorship is not offered for this position Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
