Startech Networks, Inc. is seeking an experienced California Licensed & Certified Professional Engineer with US Work Authorization to join our growing team and work remotely in California. Candidates are invited to provide their monthly compensation expectations for 1099 contract status.
Salary: Based Upon Candidates' 8-Page Stamp Package Rate
Responsibilities
- Legal Compliance: Review and provide professional feedback on Standards, Processes, and Outputs to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, permits, and legal requirements related to Telecommunications Design and Build Standards, funding applications, and Permits.
- Authority Requirements: Review, provide professional feedback, and assume responsible charge of projects where necessary. In conjunction with these responsibilities, the Principal Engineer will be required to review and seal permit applications and other documents.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate extensively with internal teams, including engineers, designers, planners, project managers, and inspectors, to meet project requirements, secure necessary approvals, and meet compliance requirements.
- External Engagement: Establish and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders and address any concerns or conflicts. When requested, provide professional support and guidance to our members pertaining to Engineering best practice.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify and assess risks, develop and document risk mitigation strategies, and implement appropriate controls.
- Process Improvement: Work with the team to continuously evaluate and enhance standards and processes to ensure compliance while seeking opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare reports, maintain accurate records, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Professional Development: Remain updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to engineering standards, and foster a culture of learning within the team.
- P.E. Certification: Ensure P.E. Certification is maintained, including maintaining existing and obtaining new licenses where required.
Technical Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of telecommunications standards and processes across a project lifecycle
- Knowledge of legal principles, contracts, and agreements related to Telecommunications, funding applications, and permits.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Pole Loading Analysis tools, geospatial and GIS tools for mapping and land use analysis is preferred.
- Experience with USDA standards, processes, and policies is preferred.
- Experience with municipalities, DOTs, Counties, and other governing bodies is preferred.
Leadership and Communication Skills:
- Proven leadership abilities to effectively provide professional feedback and training to team members that are not in a direct reporting line.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, and conflict resolution skills to work collaboratively within a wider team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, engineering, and government entities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to align set operations with broader organizational goals.
Minimum Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, urban planning, Traffic Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- P.E. Certification is required (Licensed in California).
- Civil Engineering with a focus on telecom is preferred.
- Having in multiple states is preferred and must have the ability to quickly obtain licenses in additional states where required.
- Experience with traffic design criteria such as MUTCD, CADOT, FDOT Green Book design standards and regulations
Physical Demands
- Work is typically performed in an office setting.
- Occasional travel may be required.
