Position Summary:
Kistler is looking for a Calibration Technician to join our Service Team in Novi, MI! This person will be responsible for all in-house calibration of sensors supporting multiple different business units at Kistler!
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform incoming and outgoing calibrations at all stations in the lab.
- Read schematics and mechanical assembly drawings, test procedures, test setup drawings, and product definitions. Troubleshoot calibration problems and interface under the direction of Calibration Lab supervision.
- Maintain and perform simple repairs of test equipment.
- Recommend improvements in test fixtures, test procedures and product definitions; prepares ECR’s. Effectively use bench stock and supplies associated with testing, supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Notify manager of missing or needed supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Work with Calibration Lab supervision in applying new and updated product specifications from product definitions and procedures into controlled databases. Work with Calibration Lab supervision to provide input into future Kistler systems including the writing of specifications for developments.
- Assist Calibration Lab supervision with plans and generating special operating instructions. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate in Applied Science degree or equivalent two-year diploma from a recognized community or junior college or equivalent training and experience in calibration and electronics.
- Experience with load cell, torque sensor, and accelerometer calibration preferred.
- Experience in testing of electronic instrumentation including a basic understanding of the operation of a transducer and experience with calibration techniques.
- Experience in the operation of various test equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, frequency generators, insulation testers, etc.
- Must be able to work independently and efficiently and be able to track and maintain own workload. Must have good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Must have a good knowledge of electronics, and prior experience in testing of electronic instrumentation and the operation of test equipment. Authorized to perform analysis of results, including statements of conformity or opinions and interpretations, reports, review, and authorization of results.
- Physical requirements: ability to sit at a workbench 90% of workday; ability to use a computer 50% of the workday.
