About the Job
Responsible for frying and grilling items for cafeteria patrons or patients. Also responsible for cleanliness of work area and for safe sanitary handling of food equipment and supplies.
Responsibilities:PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)
- Ensures cleanliness of assigned station prior to set up for each meal.
- Ensures proper and safe functioning of equipment.
- Reports equipment that is not functioning to supervisor.
- Sets up grill area for preparing current day's menu items; organizes work area by obtaining food items and necessary equipment before production begins.
- Prepare food items for the following day's meal service.
- Grills and fries items according to menu.
- Checks the appearance of the food to be served and reports any discrepancies to supervisor.
- Keeps waste and over production to a minimum.
- Cleans work station thoroughly using double bucket method and proper cleaning chemicals, transporting dirty pans, utensils and trays, etc. to dish room or pot and pan areas before leaving station for other assignments.
- Disposes of trash as needed.
- Filters grease according to policy and schedule.
- Completes and turns in daily sanitation checklists.
- Records all leftovers after each meal on production worksheet as needed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to read, write legibly, and speak English.
- Ability to concentrate with interruptions.
- Ability to take oral and written instructions.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required
