Responsibilities:
What you'll be challenged to do:
Entry-level position for a person with a basic operational understanding of computer graphics and drafting.
General Responsibilities:
- Copies sketches, layouts, and drawings prepared by others on to CAD, both CAD platforms - AutoCAD and MicroStation for civil and electrical projects.
- Will learn proficiency in operation of computer-aided drafting and design input station.
- Assignments of increasing difficulty will be submitted as proficiency is increased.
- Understand and follow the company's standard CAD procedures for layers/levels, line styles, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.
- Individual is flexible and may work with numerous project teams to help in project completion.
- Maintain neat and orderly work area that will allow access to project information to other team members.

What you bring to our firm:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Seeks opportunities to develop the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Basic understanding of Engineering and Architectural Scales.
- Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
- Task Management - Coordinates tasks; Communicates changes and progress to supervisor or Project Manager; Completes tasks on time and within budget.

What we’d prefer for you to bring to our firm:
- Associates Degree in related field.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation; Knowledge of Revit and Civil 3D preferred. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) desired.
- Understanding World Coordinate Systems and Preparation of civil site plans is a plus.
- At least 2 years related experience.
- This position will require limited travel to offices and client sites within their respective area, using various modes of transportation including automobile and airline.
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, or NY City, TranSystems is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; internal peer equity; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TranSystems, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $23 - $35 per hour.
