Our client has an exciting opportunity for a CAD Manager that will assist the Engineering Manager with building and maintaining a data driven CAD program for the design and execution of Industrial equipment projects. The CAD Manager will help build the system from scratch and assist with creating templates, writing procedures, rolling out the system, and training users on best practices.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Oversee the implementation, customization, and maintenance of Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and Autodesk Construction Cloud and other tools.
• Develop and enforce CAD standards and best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Utilize Autodesk Construction Cloud and other data analysis tools to gather and analyze project data, ensuring accurate reporting on project progress, productivity, and standards adherence.
• Generate regular reports for management, providing insights into key performance indicators and recommending improvements.
• Recruit, train, and mentor CAD professionals.
• Assist the Engineering Manager with performance reviews and facilitating professional development for team members.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams of mechanical design, electrical design, and process engineering to understand project requirements and provide CAD support.
• Foster collaboration between CAD teams at different locations to ensure consistency in design processes.
• Collaborate with project managers to define CAD scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Monitor project progress and ensure CAD resources are allocated appropriately.
• Develop and conduct training programs for CAD users to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for CAD software-related issues.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in CAD technology.
• Evaluate and recommend new CAD tools and technologies that align with the company's needs.
• Occasional travel to business unit sites or training opportunities (less than 10%)
• Provide leadership and direction to the CAD team across multiple locations.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative environment to enhance productivity and creativity within the CAD department.

Required

• BS Degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field
• 3 plus years in a CAD management role preferably in a multi-location environment
• Experience writing templates, procedures, and best practices for CAD use
• Experience in data analysis and reporting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD, Plant 3D and Autodesk Construction Cloud
• Exposure to Navisworks, Advanced Steel, or Solidworks
• Heavy Industrial equipment design experience
