CAD Designer - Selectek, Inc.

Selectek is looking for a CAD Designer with experience configuring and planning commercial fire alarm, security, communications, and other low voltage systems. You will work on both pre and post-sales system design to ensure compliance with engineered plans and specifications, and to find value-engineering and scope expansion opportunities. You will prepare construction shop and as-built drawings using CAD software to enable system installation by the company’s technicians and our subcontractors.


Required:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Ability to work a full-time schedule
• At least 2 to 5 years of experience as a lead technician, estimator, systems designer, or project manager in the commercial fire alarm, electronic security, and/or other low voltage specialty
• Experience with AutoCAD/AutoCAD Certification or other design and drawing software

Preferred:

• NICET and other relevant industry certifications

Job Responsibilities:

• The primary focus of this position will be to design complete and accurate life safety, security, and other low voltage systems that comply with applicable codes and project specifications
• Using AutoCAD or similar software, you will create or modify existing plans to accurately depict system design for installation
• You will be tasked with determining the most efficient system designs while considering value engineering options
• From time to time you may be asked to participate in limited pre-sales strategic account design collaboration for design-build or security consulting opportunities

Pay Range: $30/hour - $40/hour  ($62,000 - $80,000 annual salary)
Term of assignment: 6 months temp to perm – Direct hire possible
Shift:  Monday to Friday, 8AM-5PM
