Cabling Infrastructure Technician

Indiana State University’s Office of Information Technology has an immediate opening for a Cabling Infrastructure Technician with in-depth knowledge and experience supporting enterprise structured cabling infrastructure with specific experience with fiber optic and copper data cabling. This exciting position works with a team of dedicated, customer focused professionals to provide reliable, high performing, and capable structured cabling infrastructure for the University. In addition to working with contemporary structured cabling infrastructure, in a fast paced environment, this position offers a great benefits package including employer retirement contribution, dependent tuition assistance and access to the university health/recreation center.

The person in this position designs installs, and manages structured cabling infrastructure in the ISU Technology Infrastructure Services unit, provides project leadership and technical assistance in the implementation of structured cabling infrastructure and daily maintenance of such infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must have a valid driver’s license, have a minimum of an associate degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering, computer science, management information systems, or other appropriate technical discipline, or have completed a minimum of 2 years of education in the same degree fields towards a degree. The candidate must also have 1-2 years of demonstrable experience working in a relevant technical discipline involving fiber optic cabling and copper cabling.
