About the Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating CNC LATHE machines and/or ideally SCREW MACHINES to produce parts and tools from metal, plastic, or other materials.
The ideally qualified candidate will be ready to program, set-up, operate equipment for the production of various, complex parts with little to no hand-holding, but we are open to those that have MOST of what we need and the ability to learn/gain experience in the areas they do not yet have, from the team.
Key Responsibilities- Operate CNC lathe machines to produce parts and tools from metal, plastic, or other materials, including the Programming when possible, the setup and running of various machine jobs.
- Work will be done on various multi axis CNC lathes, screw machines and other machine tools including lapping, grinding, deburring for part detail./detail part while machines are running. Produce good quality parts and tooling per work standard cycle times.
- With a focus on producing a quality product, you will need to be able to/ready to inspect/review your work for quality standards/focus, and use standard work methods to ensure quality and that parts fall in target specifications.
- We would PREFER those who have some experience with/exposure to CNC Programming at some level, and/or who wish to learn and gain experience programming CNC machines using MasterCam, Gcode, G10 offsets, and other programming software.
- Use appropriate tooling and fixturing to ensure parts are produced correctly and efficiently
- Perform quality control tasks using CMM or other inspection methods
- Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure the machines are operating properly
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years, or more, of experience in the CNC machining industry
- Ideally direct setup/operation, and even desired programming experience with multi-axis screw machines and CNC lathes. Milling work is great, but we REALLY need LATHE experience at this time.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of precision machining and tooling/fixturing
