C Shift Process Technician I (5:45p.m-6a.m.) - Tekni-plex

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Work directly with machine operators to identify needs and develop solutions; work with Maintenance on equipment modifications and preventative/predictive maintenance to ensure reliability.

·         Develop a thorough knowledge of all manufacturing processes and equipment; monitor and assess all equipment performance.

·         Statistically evaluate process parameters; assess impacts of material changes to efficiency and process integrity. Continuously review current processes and search              out improvement methods to improve product/process quality to reduce scrap levels and increase yields.

·         Monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production specifications.

·         Setup machines requiring precision and the interaction of multiple variables.

·         Perform routine tests and check product for multiple characteristics using standard measuring devices

·         Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process and other control procedures

·         Document and escalate any malfunctions or abnormalities of equipment.  

·         Maintain production records and logs of equipment and product performance.

·         Participate I customer complaint system with the goals of prevention of future occurrences and complaint avoidance.

·         Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE. 

Knowledge and experience in printing and forming.

Completion of Production Operator 1, 2, 3 and 4 a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger and handle, talk and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
