BWXT is currently seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist for its Lynchburg, VA location!
In support of government contract requirements, operational goals, and business strategies:
- Report to work in our Lynchburg, Virginia office for this fully onsite position.
- Identify, manage, escalate, and mitigate supply-based risks throughout the procurement life cycle
- Negotiate non-disclosure agreements
- Create and issue requests for proposals and evaluate supplier proposals
- Conduct pricing analysis
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers
- Administer Purchase Orders, including issuance, revision management, claim resolution, discrepancy settlement, etc.
- Track open orders and report status as required in support of the business needs.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and initiate corrective action if performance falters
- Visit suppliers, and monitor supplier performance, as necessary
- Execute contract modifications in response to changing requirements; and perform close-out activities
- Provide guidance on financial and contractual matters pertaining to subcontracts
- Schedule and lead meetings with the Project Management Office (PMO), subcontractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate communication and coordination of subcontractor actions
- Partner with other functional groups, including legal, contracts, PMO, QA, risk management, finance, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field and 6 years' minimum of related experience; or
- High School Diploma or GED and at least 10 years of related experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint
- Ability to travel up to 10% of time
- Detail-oriented, organized, and flexible
- Able to set priorities and de-conflict multiple demands
- Able to apply sound business judgment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills
- U.S. citizens only. No dual citizenship
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in support of manufacturing
- Strong working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP platforms
- Familiarity with Government Purchasing regulations FARS and DFARS.
The base salary range for this position in Virginia at the start of employment is expected to be between $62,000 and $109,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
