Description
- Permanent position for a Buyer / Planner to ensure that materials, manpower and information are used to produce a quality product from machining operations.
- Ensure that all materials, drawings, specifications, patterns, fixtures, routers, CNC programs are provided to production personnel. Promote efficient production of pumps and repairs that are in accordance with customer quality and schedule requirements.
- Produce a maintain a detailed monthly and weekly production schedule.
- Continuously monitor progress against the schedule.
- Issue timely and accurate requisitions for purchased material and work with suppliers to ensure on time delivery.
- Ensure that all labor and material transactions to work orders are completed in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Work closely with the Finance and Accounting team to ensure that all month end posting to the manufacturing ledger are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support the sales team proposal efforts with cost and lead time estimates
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement efforts, participate in process improvement projects including but not limited to skills cross training, cycle time reduction, LEAN and 5’s.
- Visit suppliers location to conduct negotiations, improve relationship with them and ensure continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 5 years experience with production planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a precision machine shop environment preferred.
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, Bills of Materials, and technical specifications in English.
- Inventory management experience, familiarity with creating and closing work orders utilizing a modern ERP (enterprise resource planning) system such as EPICOR, SAP, Oracle or equal.
- Basic knowledge of machine tools and manufacturing operations
- Strong verbal and written communication skill
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent Computer skills including MS Office products, and ERP systems.
