We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Buyer for our Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) department in the Manufacturing industry. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of our operations by managing the acquisition of goods and services vital to our company's success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, negotiation, vendor management, strategic sourcing, materials management, contract management, supplier relationship management, cost analysis, forecasting, logistics, budgeting, and maintenance. This role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies.
2. Analyze and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditure.
3. Negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
4. Review supplies to ensure quality.
5. Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.
6. Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage.
7. Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
8. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
9. Collaborate with key persons to ensure the clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
10. Anticipate unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.
11. Perform cost scenario analysis and benchmarking.
12. Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
13. Implement innovative procurement processes that streamline operations and optimize productivity.
14. Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
15. Implement strategies to deliver ongoing cost reduction and process improvement.
Qualifications:
1.HS Diploma (Bachelors degree is preferred)
2. Proven working experience as a buyer for maintenance departments
3. Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in "reading" the market.
