About the Job
As a Buyer you will be responsible for OTB management and analysis, inventory management, and performance reporting for the e-commerce channel. In addition, our Buyer will help drive the team’s success by providing insight and analysis into detailed planning KPIs. The right candidate will be detail oriented, analytical and work well in a team environment. The Buyer will be responsible to create synergy throughout departments and have the ability to work cross functionally.
Responsibilities:
- Market Research
- Conduct research to identify current trends, consumer preferences, and competitor offerings for tops and bottoms.
- Supplier Management
- Identify and establish relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate prices, terms, and agreements to ensure favorable terms for the company. Communicate with vendors on product developments, new and restocking SKUS.
- Product Selection
- Select merchandise based on market trends, consumer preferences, and budget constraints. Ensure that the product assortment meets the needs of the target market.
- Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels for tops and bottoms and make replenishment decisions to maintain optimal stock levels. Minimize excess inventory and markdowns. Own Core Ladder and Replenishment buys.
- OTB Management
- Create and maintain monthly OTB plans across tops and bottoms. Meet Monthly Category Plan IMU/ Cost Targets & ensure hitting monthly receipt category plan & review OO weekly to chase into best sellers.
- Restock & Seasonal Core
- Collaborate with planning & merch on seasonal core ladder plans to ensure healthy WOS, review seasonality, and review OO to determine if style requires reorder, push out, or cancel.
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure that all merchandise meets quality standards and specifications. Work with product development and vendors to resolve any quality issues.
- Financial Analysis
- Monitor sales performance and financial metrics to assess the success of the product assortment. Make recommendations and lead strategy for tops and bottoms, access opportunities and in-season risks.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, merch, and operations, to ensure alignment on merchandising strategies and goals.
- Forecasting
- Use historical data, market trends, and other factors to forecast future demand and make buying decisions accordingly.
- Reporting
- Create category level monthly hindsight reports to drive strategic assortment decisions for future investments. Utilize team Analytics System to build reports for both planning and buying.
- Project Management
- Responsible for leading the Analytics System onboarding process across planning, buying, & pd team. Create efficiency in centralizing documents with cross functional teams.
Provide Quarterly Goals, Monthly hindsights, and Yearly Recaps
- Product Development
- Assist in product development and optimize opportunities to develop product cost effectively and on trend,
Required Skills:
Min 4 years buying experience in fast fashion high SKU D2C
Bachelor’s degree; Retail and Consumer Science, Business, Marketing, Buying, or Finance Major Preferred.
Experience in Replenishment Business.
Experience in Product Development and Trend Forecasting.
Strong understanding of financial measurements including: sales, gross margin, inventory turn, ST%, weeks of supply and how to impact them.
Expertise in retail math and OTB planning
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical skills

Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with peers and cross-functional teams
