Essential Job Responsibilities
- As a crucial member of the procurement team you will source and purchase materials and services required for projects, ensuring alignment with project needs and budget.
- Monitor order statuses and assist in expediting deliveries to ensure materials arrive on time, addressing any potential delays with guidance from senior team members.
- Work with suppliers to expedite shipments or materials left from original order or shipment.
- Maintain communication with suppliers to confirm order details and delivery schedules, fostering positive supplier relationships.
- Collaborate with shop personnel to assist in maintaining appropriate inventory levels, ensuring materials are available when needed.
- Provide status updates on castings and other materials with dates of arrival, status, and collaborate daily with Quality Assurance, Contracts, Shop Personnel, Engineering.
- Prepare and maintain procurement records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Provide general support to the team, including administrative tasks and coordination efforts as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree with a focus on business or supply chain coursework.
- 5 plus years' in a procurement role in manufacturing as a purchaser/expeditor.
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proactive approach with a results-oriented skillset.
- Eagerness to learn the nuclear business.
- Experience working in a related industry such as rotating equipment a plus.
